Moscow Discussed International Flights of CSTO Member States Air Forces
On April 13–14, the CSTO Joint Staff hosted consultations by representatives of relevant ministries and agencies of the CSTO Member States, the Joint Staff and the CSTO Secretariat on organization and performance of flights (transit flights) in the airspace of the CSTO Member States and international flights of the Air Forces of the CSTO Member States.
Representatives of relevant ministries and agencies of Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Tajikistan, the Secretariat of the CSTO Parliamentary Assembly, the CSTO Joint Staff and Secretariat participated in the consultations. The Secretariat of the CSTO Parliamentary Assembly was represented by Mr Andrei Kudryavtsev, Advisor to the Secretariat, and expert Aleksei Lyubimov (deputy Chairman of the Academic Board of the RAS Presidium on Artificial Intelligence Methodology).
The meeting discussed and coordinated the proposals on amendments to the Agreement on the Status of Formations of the CSTO Collective Security System dated December 10, 2010 and the Agreement on Cooperation of the CSTO Member States in Transportation of Military and Other Formations, their Movable Property as well as Military Goods dated September 15, 2015.
At the end of the event, Lieutenant General Anatoly Yakovlev, Head of the CSTO Military Forces (Collective Force) Planning Directorate, noted that the consultations were fruitful and that it was possible to bring the parties’ positions as close as possible, as well as to agree on and to protocol the arrangements made.
As you may recall, on November 30, 2020 the CSTO Parliamentary Assembly adopted the Recommendations on Improving the CSTO Member States’ Legislation in the Area of Organizing International Flights of the Armed Forces, Other Troops and Military Formations of the Troops.
