Meder Abakirov: We Are Looking Forward to the Conclusions of International Observers on the Elections
On November 29, Meder Abakirov, deputy Foreign Minister of the Kyrgyz Republic, met with the observer mission from the Parliamentary Assembly of the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO), headed by Snezhana Imasheva, coordinator of the observer group, Chairperson of the Committee on Legislation and Judicial and Legal Reform of the Mazhilis of the Parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
The parties discussed organization of observation of the early elections to the Jogorku Kenesh of the Kyrgyz Republic, as well as prospects for further development of cooperation within the framework of the CSTO PA.
Deputy Foreign Minister Meder Abakirov stressed the importance of international election observation and pointed out that Kyrgyzstan invited observers from a number of international organizations, including the Parliamentary Assembly mission.
"Kyrgyzstan is interested in ensuring that the early elections to the Jogorku Kenesh are conducted openly, fairly and in full accordance with our national laws and international obligations, so we highly appreciate the participation of the CSTO PA observer mission and other international partners in the electoral process. We look forward to your conclusions so that we can continue to improve our electoral system," said Meder Abakirov.
He also spoke about the work being done abroad to provide voting opportunities to Kyrgyz citizens living or temporarily staying outside the country. A total of 100 polling stations will be opened abroad in 89 cities of 34 countries.
In turn, Snezhanna Imasheva, head of the observer mission, praised the Republic's achievements in organizing the electoral process, taking into account the use of new technologies and digital solutions that ensure the reliability and transparency of voter registration and vote counting.
