CEC Chairman: Participation of International Observers in Monitoring Elections is Very Important
On November 28, members of the observer mission of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO PA) met with Tynchtyk Shainazarov, Chairman of the Central Commission of the Kyrgyz Republic on Elections and Referendums.
During the meeting, the parties discussed measures taken to ensure the open, transparent and legitimate elections.
Tynchtyk Shainazarov informed the mission members about the legal basis for organizing elections, the specifics of election commissions' work, the use of new technologies and measures to protect the citizens' electoral rights. He also stressed the particular importance of the participation of observers in monitoring elections.
The meeting focused on issues related to increasing public confidence in the voting results, interaction with candidates and voters, including young people and citizens living in remote regions and abroad.
Snezhanna Imasheva, Chairperson of the Committee on Legislation and Judicial and Legal Reform of the Mazhilis of the Parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan is the coordinator of the group of observers from the CSTO PA.
Snezhanna Imasheva thanked the Central Commission of the Kyrgyz Republic on Elections and Referendums for assisting the mission to the fullest extent.
"It is fundamentally important for us that the electoral process is open, transparent and fully compliant with national legislation and the international commitments of the Kyrgyz Republic. The international monitoring not only allows for an objective assessment of the election process, but also boosts citizens' confidence in its results," Snezhanna Imasheva pointed out.
