CSTO PA international observers arrive in Armenia to monitor the election
CSTO PA observers arrive in Yerevan today to begin short-term monitoring of the campaign for the early election to the National Assembly of the Republic of Armenia.
They will commence their work in Yerevan with a wreath-laying ceremony at the Mother Armenia monument.
International observers from the Parliamentary Assembly of the Collective Security Treaty Organization are scheduled to meet with the leadership of the National Assembly of the Republic of Armenia, as well as Tigran Mukuchyan, Chairman of the Central Election Commission of the Republic of Armenia. CSTO PA international observers will meet with representatives of campaign offices of political parties and electoral blocs that have nominated their candidates and hear opinions on the election campaign and also visit polling stations to check their readiness for voting.
On June 20 the CSTO PA observers will be present at the polling stations in Yerevan from the moment of their opening till the end of the vote counting.
You may recall that the CSTO PA international observers were invited to Armenia by Ararat Mirzoyan, President of the National Assembly of the Republic of Armenia, for a short-term observation at the early election to the National Assembly of the Republic of Armenia.
The Mission comprises deputies and representatives of the parliaments of the Member States of the Collective Security Treaty Organization: the Republic of Belarus, Republic of Kazakhstan, Kyrgyz Republic, Russian Federation, Republic of Tajikistan and members of the CSTO PA Secretariat.
Kanybek Imanaliev, deputy Chairman of the Committee on International Affairs, Defence and Security of the Jogorku Kenesh of the Kyrgyz Republic, was appointed coordinator of the CSTO PA observers.
