International observers from the Parliamentary Assembly of the Collective Security Treaty Organization together with their colleagues from the CIS Observer Mission took part in the solemn memorial ceremony of laying wreaths and flowers at the Victory Monument in central Bishkek.
As you may recall, a group of CSTO PA observers arrived at Bishkek at the invitation of the Jogorku Kenesh of the Kyrgyz Republic to observe the snap presidential election and the referendum, both scheduled for January 10, 2021.
On January 8, in preparation for voting monitoring, the observers studied the pre-election situation in the Kyrgyz Republic and met with Talant Mamytov, Acting President of the Kyrgyz Republic and Toraga (Speaker) of Jogorku Kenesh of the Kyrgyz Republic and Ruslan Kazakbayev, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic.
The group consists of deputies and representatives of the parliaments of the CSTO Member States: Republic of Armenia, Republic of Belarus, Republic of Kazakhstan, Russian Federation and Republic of Tajikistan. The coordinator of the group of CSTO PA international observers is Rustam Shokhmurod, Chairman of the Committee on Law Enforcement, Defence and Security of the Majlisi Namoyandagon of the Majlisi Oli of the Republic of Tajikistan.
