On November 22, on the eve of the CSTO summit, a joint meeting of the Council of Foreign Ministers, the Council of Defence Ministers and the Committee of Secretaries of Security Councils of the CSTO Member-States was held in Minsk.
The participants of the joint meeting signed the final documents, reports Sputnik Belarus. Among the signed documents is the Statement of the CSTO Foreign Ministers on Common Approaches to Ensuring the Security of the Eurasian Space.
The parties discussed the military and political situation in the area of responsibility of the Organization and adjacent regions, as well as summed up the results of multilateral cooperation within the CSTO and outlined the prospects for further development of the collective security system.
Tomorrow, on November 23, the session of the CSTO Collective Security Council will open in Minsk. Aleksandr Lukashenko, President of Belarus, as the head of the CSTO presiding country, will receive his four counterparts: Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, President of Kazakhstan; Sadyr Japarov, President of Kyrgyzstan; Vladimir Putin, President of Russia; and Emomali Rahmon, President of Tajikistan.
