Vyacheslav Volodin met with Xi Jinping in Beijing

Today, November 22, during the official visit of Vyacheslav Volodin, Chairman of the CSTO Parliamentary Assembly and Chairman of the State Duma of the Russian Federation, to the People’s Republic of China, he met with President of the People's Republic of China Xi Jinping in Beijing.

Vyacheslav Volodin conveyed to Xi Jinping warm words and good wishes from the Russian President Vladimir Putin and emphasized that thanks to the leaders of the two countries, Russia and China are not only strategic partners, but also strategic friends.

“China is our neighbour, and for a long time we have been building relations and cherish them,” the Duma Speaker said.

Xi Jinping stressed that the Chinese side was ready to “constantly deepen bilateral relations characterized by eternal good-neighbourliness and comprehensive strategic mutually beneficial cooperation.”

“We look forward to further deepening cooperation between the State Duma and China’s National People’s Congress in order to build a solid legal foundation for the development of bilateral relations for the benefit of our peoples,” Xi Jinping concluded.

As you may recall, on November 21–23, Vyacheslav Volodin is on an official visit to China. Before the meeting, the Chairman of the State Duma met with Chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress Zhao Leji to discuss the development of interparliamentary relations between Russia and China.
