At the Kant airbase in the Kyrgyz Republic, an exercise practiced a missile and bombshell strike on militants hiding in the mountains
CSTO aviation forces stationed at the Kant airbase underwent training at the Edelweiss high-altitude training ground in the Kyrgyz Republic.
According to the press service of the Central Military District, as part of combat skills improvement efforts, the crews of Sukhoi Su-25SM attack aircraft have practiced a massive rocket and bomb attack on the hypothetical enemy, destroying a command post, equipment and weaponry.
During the exercise, attack aircraft carried out an air raid and fired more than 50 C-8 air-to-surface missiles, as well as dropping some 20 air bombs on targets imitating a caravan of lightly armoured vehicles, weaponry and a temporary command post of the hypothetical enemy.
“In total, ten Su-25 attack aircraft and about 100 servicemen were involved in training and combat tasks at Edelweiss mountain training ground,” the report says.
United airbase Kant in the Kyrgyz Republic is part of the Collective Rapid Deployment Force of the Collective Security Treaty Organization that participates in ensuring the security of CSTO Member States’ airspace.
