Russian Military Base in Armenia Conducts Counter-Terrorist Training

A planned counter-terrorist training of spetsnaz of the Russian military base in Gyumri was held in Armenia, according to the website of the Russian Defense Ministry.

A sabotage and reconnaissance group (SRG) of a simulated enemy made an attempt to attack the checkpoint area. A subdivision of the counter-terrorist group surrounded the "enemy" forces and disarmed them using conventional weapons supported by armoured personnel carrier fire.

The checkpoint area was then swept for explosive devices.

A variety of simulation techniques were used during the training, including blank rounds, smoke, battle noise simulators and stun grenades.
