CSTO Permanent Council meeting considered a document on measures to strengthen cooperation with the CIS and SCO
On January 14, under the chairmanship of Khasan Sultonov, Permanent Representative of the Republic of Tajikistan, the first meeting of the CSTO Permanent Council for 2021 was held remotely with the participation of Stanislav Zas, CSTO Secretary General.
According to the press service of the Collective Security Treaty Organization, the Permanent Council has reviewed and finalized a draft decision of the Collective Security Council of the Collective Security Treaty Organization on measures to strengthen cooperation between the CSTO and the CIS and SCO. Work on the document will continue at subsequent meetings of the Permanent Council.
The meeting agreed upon a declaration by the Collective Security Treaty Organization Member States on efforts to stabilize the situation in the Middle East and North Africa. It was decided to send the document to the Ministers for Foreign Affairs of the CSTO Member States for review.
In addition, the meeting continued the consideration of a number of important political statements by the CSTO Member States relating to coordination of efforts to combat terrorism using new and emerging technologies, to ban the development and production of new types of weapons of mass destruction and new systems of such weapons, and to ensure comprehensive stability in the world.
