The mission of international observers from the CSTO Parliamentary Assembly will monitor the preparation and holding of parliamentary elections in the Republic of Belarus.
Vyacheslav Volodin, Chairman of the CSTO PA and Chairman of the State Duma of the Russian Federation received a letter signed by Natalia Kochanova and Vladimir Andreichenko, the heads of both chambers of the Belarusian Parliament, inviting the CSTO PA observers to take part in monitoring the parliamentary elections in Belarus, which are scheduled for February 25, 2024.
The invitation letter highlights the special character of this election campaign – for the first time in the Republic of Belarus the entire parliamentary corps will be formed on a single voting day.
110 deputies of the House of Representatives of the National Assembly of the Republic of Belarus and 12514 deputies of local councils of deputies will be elected in single-member districts for five years.
In 2023, observers from the CSTO PA monitored the elections in the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Republic of Serbia.
