CSTO PA Observers: Referendum Was Held in Full Compliance with National Legislation of Kazakhstan
CSTO Parliamentary Assembly group of observers concluded its mission in Kazakhstan, signing the Final Report on the results of the monitoring of the Republican referendum.
In the official document, mission representatives commended Kazakhstan for the level of preparation and conduct of the vote. According to observers, the electoral process took place in full accordance with the national legislation of the Republic of Kazakhstan and international standards.
The referendum was recognized as open, free, and legitimate. Observers underlined that citizens were provided with all the necessary conditions for secret and free expression of their will.
Visiting the polling stations both in Astana and the Akmola region, mission members did not record any violations.
The observers praised the professionalism of the Central Election Commission of Kazakhstan and local precinct commissions.
As part of the mission, the CSTO PA delegation held meetings with the leadership of the CEC, Speakers of the Senate and the Mazhilis of the Parliament of Kazakhstan, the Ministry of Defence leadership and voting participants. Observers monitored all stages: from the opening of polling stations and sealing of ballot boxes to the vote counting procedure.
Signing of the Final Report officially concluded the delegation’s mission in Kazakhstan.
