Andrei Kartapolov Praised the High Level of Security at the Referendum in Kazakhstan
Andrei Kartapolov, a member of the CSTO PA international observer mission and Chairman of the Committee on Defence of the State Duma of the Russian Federation, assessed the organization of public order during the constitutional referendum in Kazakhstan.
"Security is a key factor for the expression of free will. We can see that law enforcement agencies in Kazakhstan are working professionally and tactfully. The country’s leadership and the referendum organizers have made a great contribution to that. I wish to express my gratitude to the Kazakhstani side for the excellent preparation: the voting process was organized safely and transparently. I am certain that the outcome will be objective and fair," Andrei Kartapolov emphasized.
The Ministry of Internal Affairs of Kazakhstan have underlined that the police officers were not stationed inside the polling stations. They could enter only at the invitation of the commission chair and only in case of violations of the public order.
