In the course of the 150th Assembly of the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU) in Tashkent, Natalia Kochanova, Chairperson of the Council of the Republic of the National Assembly of the Republic of Belarus, stressed the importance of social justice in the face of the escalating arms race and global conflicts.
"Wars, conflicts, hostility, arms race, the new rise of bloc mentality and confrontation – all of this is constantly spreading further across the globe. With each new "milestone" in military spending, the risk of big wars increases. The demand for social justice has become a priority on global scale," Natalia Kochanova emphasized.
She added that the IPU Assembly continues to adhere to the principles of equal and mutually respectful dialog, which "strengthens the role of parliamentary diplomacy in finding solutions to modern challenges and threats, as well as in implementing strategies for progressive development of states."
