CSTO Joint Staff prepares measures to strengthen Tajikistan’s defense capabilities
Task force of the Joint Staff of the Collective Security Treaty Organization headed by Colonel General Anatoly Sidorov, Chief of the CSTO Joint Staff, has arrived in the Republic of Tajikistan.
The task force monitors the situation in the border areas, reported the CSTO Joint Staff according to the press service of the Collective Security Treaty Organization.
In turn, the CSTO Joint Staff clarifies that the working visit plans to include field trips to the southern regions of the Republic of Tajikistan, as well as several working meetings with the leadership of the Ministry of Defence of the Republic of Tajikistan, the border guards of the State National Security Committee and other concerned ministries and departments.
Anatoly Sidorov, Chief of the CSTO Joint Staff, stressed that “the main purpose of the task force is to monitor the situation and prepare proposals on joint measures within the CSTO format.”
Meanwhile, at a press conference in Vientiane during his visit to the Lao People’s Democratic Republic on Wednesday, July 7, Sergei Lavrov, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation, confirmed that all obligations of the Russian Federation within the Collective Security Treaty Organization remain in force and will be fulfilled.
“CSTO obligations remain fully in force,” Sergei Lavrov was quoted as saying by RIA Novosti.
