Delegation of the Federation Council of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation headed by the Deputy Chairman of the Federation Council Yury VOROBYEV took part in an external session of the Council of the Parliamentary Assembly of the CSTO and the twelfth plenary session of the CSTO PA in Yerevan (Republic of Armenia). Olga KOVITIDI, a member of the delegation, a participant of the plenary session, a member of the CSTO PA Standing Committee on Political Affairs and International Cooperation and a representative of the executive power of the Republic of Crimea in the Council of Federation of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation, noted the relevance of the model laws focused on regulating national security of the CSTO Member States, which were adopted at the plenary session.
According to her, the adopted model laws provide a legal framework to ensure internal stability and to counteract external destructive technologies aimed at social and political destabilization, and improve the national legislation of the CSTO Member States in the area of countering the dissemination of Nazism and its manifestations. “All model laws adopted at the plenary meeting are timely, needed and meet the challenges and threats that have arisen before the CSTO Member States, while also taking into account possible future risks,” said Ms KOVITIDI.
