CSTO PA and the Parliamentary Assembly of the Union State Strengthen Ties
On March 28, Moscow hosted the international scientific and practical conference "The Union State in a Multipolar World" organized by the Parliamentary Assembly of the Union of Belarus and Russia.
The conference program included a plenary session and three sections: "The Union State in the international security architecture", "Development of the Union State economy under sanctions" and "Commonwealth of women's public organizations through common spiritual values of Belarus and Russia".
The event was attended by Ivan Melnikov, deputy Chairman of the Parliamentary Assembly and first deputy Chairman of the State Duma, Dmitry Mezentsev, State Secretary of the Union State, deputies of the Parliamentary Assembly, senators and deputies of the chambers of the parliaments of Belarus and Russia, representatives of ministries, agencies and scientific institutions of the two countries, professors of higher educational institutions and heads of the media.
Sergei Pospelov, Executive Secretary of the CSTO Parliamentary Assembly, noted that cooperation between the CSTO PA and the Parliamentary Assembly of the Union State should continue so that legal regulation of interaction between Belarus and Russia meets new geopolitical conditions.
"Belarus and Russia are the most active participants in the process of creating Model legislation. Let me remind you that the Parliamentary Assembly was one of the initiators of including the concept of "electoral security" in the Belarusian Concept of National Security. Our cooperation is also very positively reflected in the process of building interactions at other international platforms, such as IPU, CIS and SCO, which Belarus and Russia are members of. The Parliamentary Assembly of Belarus and Russia is also an observer in the CSTO PA," shared Sergei Pospelov.
The main priority of the CSTO Parliamentary Assembly is the rapprochement and harmonization of national legislations of all CSTO Member States, including the Republic of Belarus and the Russian Federation.
