In an interview with the Natsional'naya Oborona (National Defence) magazine, Imangali Tasmagambetov, CSTO Secretary General, announced that The Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) will hold seven military exercises in 2024.
"On the territory of Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia and Tajikistan it is planned to carry out a strategic command and staff training of the Joint Staff, Secretariat and interested ministries and agencies of the CSTO Member States; command and staff military exercises 'Vzaimodeistvie – 2024', 'Nerushimoye bratstvo – 2024'; special exercises 'Poisk – 2024', 'Echelon – 2024', 'Skala – 2024', 'Cobalt – 2024'; and joint military exercises 'Rubezh – 2024'. These formats of exercises are already tested in the context of carrying out activities in key areas of the Organization," Mr. Tasmagambetov noted.
All activities in these areas will be held in accordance with the plan of joint training of the CSTO collective security system's management bodies and formations of forces and means for 2024. This plan was approved by the relevant statutory bodies of the organization – the Council of Defence Ministers and the Committee of Secretaries of CSTO Security Councils.
Traditionally, CSTO parliamentarians will actively conduct political and military monitoring of the exercises.
