State Duma Chairman Vyacheslav Volodin Elected Co-Chair of the Russian Federation's Interparliamentary Group

On October 13, the State Duma of the Russian Federation adopted a resolution electing Vyacheslav Volodin, Chairman of the State Duma, co-chair of the Russian Federation's Interparliamentary Group.

During the plenary session, the parliamentarians also elected Yevgeny Popov as deputy co-chair of the State Duma's IPU group.

The Russian Federation's IPU Group plays a key role in international parliamentary dialogue, officially representing the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation in the Inter-Parliamentary Union.

As you may recall, on October 7, representatives of the CSTO PA took part in the 153rd Assembly of the Inter-Parliamentary Union in Tanzania. On the sidelines of the IPU Assembly, a coordination meeting was held between the heads of parliamentary delegations from CSTO member states, allowing participants to align their positions and discuss joint strategies for international parliamentary forums.
