Today, March 29, Erlan Koshanov was elected Chairman of the Mazhilis of the Parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
Deputies unanimously supported his candidacy. “Our common task is to ensure high-quality and timely legislative support of the implementation of the voiced initiatives. People’s trust is paramount. I think that we will start to execute our mandate as deputies in a well-coordinated and open manner from the very first day,” Mr Koshanov said.
As you may recall, Erlan Koshanov acted as Chairman from February 1, 2022 to January 19, 2023 – the day when Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, President of Kazakhstan, dissolved the chamber and called for early parliamentary elections.
