Russian President Vladimir Putin’s congratulations on Navy Day
On Navy Day, the Supreme Commander-in-Chief reviews the Main Naval Parade, which takes place in St Petersburg and Kronstadt. Kremlin.ru reports that before the key part of the Main Naval Parade, Vladimir Putin, President of the Russian Federation, made the rounds of military ships on a presidential cutter in the Gulf of Finland, the Neva River and the Kronstadt Yard and congratulated their crews.
Before the beginning of the key part of the Main Naval Parade, the President signed the decree On Adoption of the Naval Doctrine of the Russian Federation and the decree On Adoption of the Naval Charter of the Russian Navy. The signing ceremony took place in the building of the State Museum of the History of St Petersburg in the Peter and Paul Fortress.
Earlier today, Vladimir Putin, accompanied by Sergei Shoigu, Minister of Defence, Nikolai Yevmenov, Commander-in-Chief of the Russian Navy, and Vladimir Kochetkov, Acting Commander of the Western Military District Forces, made the rounds of a parade line of military ships in the Gulf of Finland and the Kronstadt Yard, saluted crews and congratulated them on Navy Day from the deck of the naval cutter Raptor.
More than 40 ships, cutters, and submarines, as well as 42 aircraft and more than 3,500 troops are taking part in Russia’s Main Naval Parade in 2022.
