Presidents of Russia and Tajikistan discussed the strategic partnership development
Vladimir Putin, President of the Russian Federation, and Emomali Rahmon, President of the Republic of Tajikistan, had a telephone conversation on topical issues of the development of Russia-Tajikistan relations.
According to kremlin.ru, the leaders discussed some topical issues pertaining to the further development of friendly Russian-Tajikistani relations, as well as the topics of the forthcoming Shanghai Cooperation Organization summit to be held in Samarkand in September.
According to NIAT Khovar, during the friendly conversation, in continuation of their regular dialogue, the heads of states considered certain aspects of the Tajikistani-Russian relations of friendship and inter-state cooperation, as well as the prospects for their further development within the framework of strategic partnership.
The parties exchanged views on topical international problems and certain issues of regional cooperation, including ensuring regional security with a focus on the situation in Afghanistan.
“The parties agreed to continue maintaining contact on these issues and noted the importance of further building of multifaceted cooperation between the parties.”
