Russia and the Republic of Belarus will continue strengthening security in all areas and forming a multipolar system of international relations. The leaders pointed it out in a joint statement of Vladimir Putin, President of Russia and Aleksandr Lukashenko, President of Belarus.
The joint statement was issued following the talks Lukashenko and Putin held in Moscow.
“The parties will continue to make joint efforts to effectively respond to modern challenges and threats in order to strengthen the security of Russia and Belarus within the common defence space of the Union State,” the statement reads.
The Presidents of Russia and Belarus exchanged instruments of ratification of the Treaty on Security Guarantees Within the Framework of the Union State, which then immediately came into force.
