Scouts of the 201st base in Tajikistan eliminated a simulated illegal military group
In the course of exercises at the Lyaur high-altitude training ground in Tajikistan, scouts of the 201st Russian military base have destroyed a simulated illegal military group.
According to the press service of the Western Military District of the Russian Defence Ministry, scouts of the 201st military base in Tajikistan destroyed an illegal armed formation in the course of special tactical training.
The exercise simulated a situation when several armed groups of terrorists had concentrated near the Russian training ground Lyaur to sabotage the facilities of a motorized rifle unit. Given the mountainous terrain, scouts advanced to the specified area on BTR-80 armoured fighting vehicle and on foot. An Orlan-10 unmanned aerial vehicle was used to determine the exact location and coordinates of the fighters. The reconnaissance personnel blocked the alleged location of simulated terrorists, and target coordinates were transmitted to the control post of a mortar battery for elimination.
In the course of the exercise, the servicemen used advanced intelligence, control and signal systems Strelets and PSNR-8 and SBR-5 portable ground reconnaissance stations.
