“Russia and Kyrgyzstan will strengthen cooperation within the CSTO framework as part of their Bilateral Year,” Russian President Vladimir PUTIN said today in the Kremlin Palace of Congresses, announcing the Bilateral Year of the Kyrgyz Republic in the Russian Federation and of the Russian Federation in the Kyrgyz Republic.
As he said earlier during the talks with the President of the Kyrgyz Republic, “Last year we agreed that we would hold Bilateral Years of Kyrgyzstan in Russia and of Russia in Kyrgyzstan. And today we will have the opportunity to launch it, with more than 200 planned events of various kind. I am sure that they will be interesting and promote our relationship, which is developing progressively in almost all directions. Russia remains Kyrgyzstan’s key trade and economic partner both in terms of trade turnover and investment.”
For his part, Kyrgyz President Sooronbai JEENBEKOV appreciated “the warmth and hospitality felt from the first minutes on Russian soil.” “We expect major changes this year. For our part, we are doing everything we can to make these events happen,” he said.
The President of the Kyrgyz Republic reminded: “We are preparing to celebrate the 75th anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War together with you. There will be many large-scale events.”
Mutual Years of Culture between the countries have already become a good tradition. Numerous events held within the framework of the Mutual Year make it possible to experience and appreciate other countries’ cultural achievements. Musicians, artists, artists, directors and many other creative professionals come to a friendly country to share the cultural and historical values of their homeland and contribute to the common cause of strengthening friendship and understanding on international level.
