Russian Pilots Destroy Ammunition Depot of a Simulated Enemy in Kyrgyzstan
Crews of Russian pilots on Sukhoi Su-25SM attack aircraft of the joint Russian military base located in Kyrgyzstan have destroyed ground facilities of a simulated enemy during training flights in the mountains, the website of the Russian Defence Ministry reports.
The attack aircraft practised the combined use of missile weapons against ground targets simulating ammunition depots. The flights were carried out at speeds of about 800 km/h and at altitudes of one hundred to three thousand metres.
As you may recall, the joint Russian military base is the air component of the Collective Rapid Deployment Forces (CRDF) of the Central Asian region of the Collective Security Treaty Organization. The military base’s main task is to control the airspace over Central Asia, provide aviation support to subdivisions of the ground component of the CRDF of the CSTO Central Asian region and ensure security of the air borders of the Republic of Kyrgyzstan.
