Armenia Hosted Field Training of Radiation, Chemical and Biological Defence Specialists
According to the website of the Russian Defence Ministry, a military base of the Southern Military District (SMD) in Armenia held field training of radiation, chemical and biological (RCB) protection specialists as part of the preparation for the summer training period.
The servicemen carried out various tasks in conditions of chemical and radioactive contamination. In particular, the specialists made sure they know the configuration and setup procedure for general purpose radiation and chemical reconnaissance devices VPKhR and DP-5V.
In addition, the RCB unit practised using personal and collective protective equipment and passed qualifying tests.
As you may recall, a session of the CSTO Collective Security Council held in Yerevan on November 23, 2022 decided to jointly establish radiation, chemical and biological protection and medical support.
Further improvement of the RCB monitoring and assessment system is one of the key vectors of inter-state cooperation within the Collective Security Treaty Organization. In particular, experts from the CSTO Parliamentary Assembly have prepared a draft law on medical and biological security.
