Rustam Shokhmurod: Russian Pilots in Tajikistan Demonstrated Excellent Training
Aviation crews of the 201st Russian military base conducted a series of training flights on Mi-8MTV5-1 transport and combat helicopters and Mi-24 attack helicopters in the mountains of Tajikistan.
At the Lyaur training ground, in difficult terrain conditions, the crews practiced tactics at extremely low altitudes, performing simulated launches of unguided C-8 air-to-surface missiles against clusters of equipment and manpower of the simulated enemy.
Rustam Shokhmurod, Chairman of the Committee on Law and Order, Defence and Security of the Majlisi Namoyandagon of the Majlisi Oli of the Republic of Tajikistan, noted high levels of training and professionalism of Russian helicopter crews.
“These exercises have once again demonstrated the constant readiness of our Armed Forces to counter potential threats in Central Asia. Successful performance of complex tasks in high altitude conditions, including aerial reconnaissance and tactical maneuvers at low altitudes, reflects the high professionalism of our servicemen,” Rustam Shokhmurod noted.
The parliamentarian emphasized that “such exercises not only increase the combat readiness of the troops, providing an opportunity to gain valuable experience in decision-making in a difficult situation, but also help to identify both strengths and points for further improvement”.
As you may recall, the 201st military base stationed in Tajikistan is Russia's largest military facility outside its borders. It is located in two cities – Dushanbe and Bokhtar.
