Rustami Emomali Calls Interparliamentary Ties an Important Branch of Russian-Tajik Relations
On March 3, Rustami Emomali, Chairman of the Majlisi Milli of the Majlisi Oli of the Republic of Tajikistan, met with his Russian counterpart Mikhail Mishustin in Dushanbe.
During the meeting, the sides discussed cooperation and countering transnational challenges and threats, the security situation in the region, taking into account the state of affairs in Afghanistan, as well as other bilateral issues.
Rustami Emomali emphasized that interparliamentary ties were an important branch of interstate relations, regularly established at a qualitatively new level.
The ties between the parliaments of the two states are also maintained within the IPA CIS and the Parliamentary Assembly of the CSTO.
A total of nine documents were signed at the end of the meeting.
“We sincerely appreciate our allied, fraternal, historical relations with Tajikistan. Of course, the Treaty of Friendship, Cooperation and Mutual Assistance provide a solid foundation for this. This year we will celebrate its thirtieth anniversary”, Mr Mishustin said.
