SPEF Discussed Legislative Approximation as an Essential Factor of Integration
The International Economic Forum continues in St Petersburg. In his welcoming address to the participants, published on the Forum’s official website, Russian President Vladimir Putin noted the importance of today’s aspirations of most countries of the world to ensure their political and economic independence.
"I believe this Forum’s motto, Sovereign Development as the Basis of a Just World: Joining Forces for Future Generations, to be extremely important and timely,” the Russian leader said.
The main programme of SPIEF’s 2023 business events is divided into five themes devoted to global processes leading to the formation of a fundamentally new multipolar political and economic model.
In his speech at the section The World Economy at a Global Turning Point, Sergei Pospelov, Executive Secretary of the CSTO Parliamentary Assembly, noted that parliamentary diplomacy is an important and special area of diplomacy in a multipolar world.
“Through foreign policy statements, model legislative acts, parliamentary hearings and conferences, the Parliamentary Assembly, representing the six parliaments, upholds the ideas of a multipolar world and integrity of its security,” stressed Sergei Pospelov.
As you may recall, the 2023 SPIEF is held in St Petersburg for the 26th time. The Forum’s programme includes 140 events.
