Secretaries of the Security Councils of the CSTO Member States will hold a video conference to discuss addressing the drug threat
A remote meeting of the Committee of Secretaries of Security Councils of the Collective Security Treaty Organization Member States will be held on November 17.
The Russian Federation will be represented by Nikolai Patrushev, Secretary of the Russian Security Council.
According to the website of the Security Council of the Russian Federation, the plan is to discuss security challenges and threats of the CSTO Member States, focusing on cooperation in addressing the drug threat, military and technical cooperation, coordination of efforts to combat international terrorism, as well as countering the spread of terrorist and related extremist ideology.
The meeting will be chaired by the Russian side. According to the CSTO website, Igor Zubov, State Secretary and deputy Minister of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation, will report at the meeting on the results of the CSTO Members States’ Coordination Council of the Heads of Competent Authorities for Countering the Illicit Drug Trafficking. The meeting will also review a number of draft decisions of the CSTO Collective Security Council concerning military and technical cooperation, Peacekeeping Force and equipment of the Collective Rapid Reaction Force, CSTO Anti-Drug Strategy and training of CSTO Member States’ public officials.
It is expected that the 2021 Joint Training Plan of CSTO Management Bodies and Forces and Means of the CSTO Collective Security System and Plan of Consultations of Representatives of CSTO Member States On Foreign Policy, Security an nd Defence for the second half of 2020 the first half of 2021 will be signed.
