On the night of September 13, 2022 hostilities broke out on the border between Armenia and Azerbaijan with the use of heavy weapons and UAVs, which resulted in casualties and wounded, reads the Comment of the Secretariat of the Collective Security Treaty Organization.
“We consider the use of force unacceptable. Contradictions should only be resolved through political and diplomatic methods and agreements formalized in the statements of the leaders of Azerbaijan, Armenia and Russia of November 9, 2020, January 11 and November 26, 2021,” reads the Comment.
Pursuant to the Republic of Armenia’s appeal for aid to the CSTO Collective Security Council, the Organization’s Secretariat together with the CSTO Joint Staff started invoking CSTO mechanisms to address the situation.
We express our deep condolences to the families of the victims and wish a speedy recovery to the wounded.
