Commenting on the CSTO exercises in Kyrgyzstan to the CSTO PA press service, Sergei Aleinik, Chairman of the Permanent Commission on International Affairs and National Security of the Council of the Republic of the National Assembly of the Republic of Belarus, stated that the CSTO is a defensive organization, and the exercises held on the territory of the CSTO Member States are purely defensive in nature.
According to him, the CSTO is an efficient military and political organization aimed at strengthening security, and the main purpose of the exercises is to train the interaction of Collective Rapid Reaction Forces.
The parliamentarian added that these exercises do not pose any threat.
As you may recall, on September 11, at the Edelweiss training ground in Kyrgyzstan, participants of the Coordination Meeting of Chairpersons of Committees on Defence and Security of the CSTO Parliaments monitored the active phase of the Vzaimodeistvie–2024 CSTO exercises in Balykchy. As stated by the Organization's parliamentarians, the exercises were held successfully and all the tasks were accomplished perfectly.
