Sergei Lavrov: Strengthening the Belt of Good Neighborliness Is among our Regional Priorities
On February 19, during the government hour, Sergei Lavrov, head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation, declared that Russia had always been and remained open to equal and respectful cooperation with everyone who is ready to work on the basis of fair balance of interests in security, politics, economy, culture and people-to-people contacts.
“One of our regional priorities is to strengthen the belt of good neighborliness through consistent integration with post-Soviet states, our neighbors, and by maintaining the stability of the greater Eurasia. We are solving this task both by developing bilateral ties with the relevant states and within the framework of such structures as the CSTO, CIS, Eurasian Economic Union, SCO and other multilateral structures,” the Minister noted.
Sergei Lavrov pointed out that on June 14, 2024, speaking at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Vladimir Putin, President of Russia, proposed a strategic idea of creating a new security architecture in Eurasia, intended to replace the outdated model of Euro-Atlantic cooperation
