Sergei Shoigu: “The CSTO is a Cooperation Priority for the Russian Ministry of Defense”
On August 15, the 11th Moscow Conference on International Security brought together more than 800 delegates from 76 countries, representing defence agencies and international organizations, diplomats and experts, to discuss issues on the global and regional agenda.
The central theme of the event, organized by the Russian Ministry of Defence, was the establishment of cooperation in the new reality amid the formation of a multipolar world order.
In his speech at the opening of the discussion Global Security Reality in a Multipolar World, Army General Sergei Shoigu, Russian Minister of Defence, stressed the important role of the Ministry of Defence’s cooperation with the Collective Security Treaty Organization.
“The CSTO is a cooperation priority for the Russian Ministry of Defence,” Sergei Shoigu said.
Heads of the CSTO Member States Aleksandr Lukashenko and Vladimir Putin sent their addresses to the conference participants. The conference is attended by representatives of the CSTO Parliamentary Assembly. Various aspects of security in Asia, Africa, the Middle East, Latin America and Europe will be discussed today.
