Treaty to Establish a Joint Kyrgyzstan–Russia Air Defence System Ready for Ratification
The government of the Russian Federation has submitted a treaty on the establishment of a joint air defence system of Kyrgyzstan and Russia to the President of the Russian Federation for ratification by the State Duma and the Federation Council. A resolution to this effect signed by Mikhail Mishustin, Prime Minister the Russian Federation, has been published at a legal-information portal.
As you may recall, the treaty itself was signed in Moscow on August 16, 2022. The document formalizes the establishment of a joint regional air defence system of the Kyrgyz Republic and the Russian Federation.
Earlier there was a discussion of the possibility to expand the joint Russian air base Kant in Kyrgyzstan, which belongs to the Collective Rapid Deployment Forces and ensures the security of the airspace of the CSTO Member States.
