CSTO PA Council Adopted a Statement on the 20th Anniversary of the Parliamentary Assembly
In 2026, the Parliamentary Assembly of the Collective Security Treaty Organization will celebrate its 20th anniversary. Marking this special occasion, on April 20 the CSTO PA Council adopted a Statement.
The document emphasizes that over the past two decades, the Assembly has become a key element of the collective security system, ensuring effective cooperation between the CSTO Member States.
"We underline the importance of joint work on harmonization of the CSTO Member States' legislation on defence, military development, security and countering modern challenges and threats, including terrorism, extremism, illicit trafficking in drugs and weapons, cyber threats and transnational crime. Over the years of the CSTO Parliamentary Assembly’s work, it has adopted a number of important model legislative acts, which has made a significant contribution to the formation of the collective security system," the Statement published on the Assembly’s official website reads.
CSTO PA Council reaffirmed its commitment to fostering integration based on the principles of genuine equality and resolution of disputes through political and diplomatic means. It called on the world’s parliaments and international organizations to join forces and lay the foundations for sustainable development without the use of force or armed conflict.
