Kassym-Jomart Tokayev Met With the Speaker of the Parliament of Tajikistan

On August 23, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, President of Kazakhstan, met with Mahmadtoir Zokirzoda, Speaker of the Lower Chamber of the Parliament of Tajikistan, in Dushanbe. 

The parties noted the coherent work between the parliaments of the two states, as well as the successful development of cooperation within international organizations.

As Mahmadtoir Zokirzoda pointed out during the meeting, Dushanbe supports active cooperation of lawmakers with Kazakhstan, and the states need to unite their interests in lawmaking processes. 

According to the press service of the President of Kazakhstan, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev supported the suggestion of the President of Tajikistan to step up inter-parliamentary ties and expressed hope that they “will develop successfully and will become a very important element of bilateral cooperation and alliance”.
