Cobalt 2022, a special forces exercise of the CSTO Collective Rapid Reaction Force, will be held in Kyrgyzstan in August
Tactical and special exercise Cobalt 2022 involving special forces of the CSTO Collective Rapid Reaction Force (CRRF) will take place on August 2–5 in the Kyrgyz Republic. According to the official website of the Collective Security Treaty Organization, combined groups of special forces of Collective Security Treaty Organization Member States will perform training and tactical tasks to search, isolate and neutralize militia and terrorist groups; shut down drug smuggling channels; detect and destroy caches and laboratories where drugs are stored and produced. Emercom units will practice remediation in the follow-up of the anti-terrorist operation. The exercise plan includes command and staff training with the Operational Headquarters of the CSTO CRRF special forces on planning a special operation and enabling interaction and management of heterogenous forces and equipment. At the end of the exercise, a shooting competition will be organized between the teams participating in the exercise.
The exercise is being conducted in accordance with the Joint Training Plan for CSTO Collective Security Forces and Assets.
