Last week, at the invitation of the President of the Republic of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon, CSTO Secretary General Stanislav Zas visited Shuroabat and Kalai-Khumb sections of the Tajik-Afghan state border. According to the press service of the Collective Security Treaty Organization, the CSTO Secretary General reviewed the border infrastructure and equipment of the Border Troops of the State Committee of National Security of the Republic of Tajikistan with weapons, military equipment and technical means of border protection.
Stanislav Zas met a Tajik woman wounded by fire from the other side in hospital and visited the memorial to fallen border guard soldiers.
The trip was organized by the Tajik side as part of the preparation of the draft Collective Security Treaty Organization Targeted Interstate Programme to Strengthen Sections of the Tajik-Afghan Border.
