On September 30, under the chairmanship of Timur Sultangaziyev, First Deputy Minister of Healthcare of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the IV meeting of the Coordination Council of authorized bodies of the CSTO Member States on biological security was held in Almaty.
The participants exchanged views on the biosecurity situation in the CSTO area, summarized the results of joint activities in the field of response to biological threats, and considered other issues.
At the suggestion of the Russian delegation, headed by Anna Popova, Head of Rospotrebnadzor, the authorized bodies of the CSTO Member States will prepare a joint analysis of the state of biological security in the region.
CSTO parliamentarians are actively working to ensure the medical and biological security of the Organization's Member States. In particular, in 2023, Recommendations on legislative provision of biological security for CSTO Member States were adopted.
