Heads of the CSTO and SCO International Military Cooperation Bodies Gather in Astana

On February 28-29 in Astana, delegations of the Armed Forces of the CSTO Member States are taking part in meetings of the heads of international military cooperation bodies of the defence ministries of the Collective Security Treaty Organization and the Shanghai Cooperation Organization.

During the meetings, they plan to discuss strengthening security in the CSTO and SCO area, preparations for the meetings of the defence ministers of the Member States of these organizations, as well as draft agendas and a joint communiqué.

The CSTO and the SCO signed a Memorandum of Understanding in October 2007, on the basis of which the parties maintain regular contacts and carry out joint work.
