On September 17, Belarus celebrates People's Unity Day. This year's celebrations are held under the slogan “Strength in Unity,” which reflects the aspiration of Belarusians for common development and prosperity.
In his address to the people, Aleksandr Lukashenko, President of the Republic, emphasized the importance of unity and wished everyone health, kindness and well-being.
“85 years ago our ancestors reunited for the sake of creation for the benefit of our common future. Step by step, with labor and military victories, talent and energy, millions of people strengthened the statehood, establishing themselves among peoples and cultures as a courageous and progressive nation. Today, when the country is developing and confidently moving forward, it is especially important to cherish love and respect for our native land. Only by joint efforts will we be able to pass on to our descendants the dignified right to be called Belarusians,” Aleksandr Lukashenko said.
Today, solemn demonstrations and concerts, historical quizzes and exhibitions, sports and educational events, competitions and flash mobs are held in every region of the country.
