Meeting of the Council of the CSTO Parliamentary Assembly Starts in Bishkek

Today, on May 19, a meeting of the Council of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) has started in Bishkek. The heads of parliamentary delegations of the CSTO Member States and Serbia are taking part in the event.

Vyacheslav Volodin, Chairman of the CSTO PA and Chairman of the State Duma, opened the meeting. In his opening speech, he stressed the importance of joint work of the Member States of the Organization in current circumstances.

"Today it's become necessary to develop cooperation between the CSTO Member States, primarily in the field of strengthening security. Common challenges require common solutions," Vyacheslav Volodin pointed out.

The agenda of the meeting includes the implementation of the decisions of the November session of the CSTO Collective Security Council, measures to counter threats, the activities within the framework of Kyrgyzstan's CSTO Chairmanship and formulation of the 2026-2030 Action Plan on Approximation and Harmonization of National Legislation.
