On March 10, as part of the events dedicated to the 80th anniversary of the Great Victory, a monument with the names of heroes of the Great Patriotic War buried in the Alley of Glory in the Orthodox cemetery was unveiled in Dushanbe.
The ceremony was attended by representatives of the Russian Embassy in Tajikistan, servicemen of the 201st Russian military base, young soldiers, public figures, members of the Council of Veterans, peacekeepers, as well as representatives of the Russian-Tajik (Slavonic) University, headed by Rector Mashrab Faizullo.
Moreover, obelisks with granite slabs with the names of soldiers and commanders who died in evacuation hospitals in Stalinabad (now Dushanbe) have been restored in the Alley of Glory. During the war, the wounded and sick from central evacuation hospitals of Moscow, Saratov, Gorky (now Nizhny Novgorod) and other cities came to Dushanbe. The Alley of Heroes will be opened in Victory Park in Dushanbe, the Evacuation Museum will open its doors for visitors; and amendments will be made to the Law on Veterans and Home Front Workers.
Today, 17 veterans and disabled people of the Great Patriotic War, as well as 124 home front workers live in Tajikistan.
As you may recall, on December 9, 2024, in Moscow, the CSTO Parliamentary Assembly adopted the Address to the Parliamentarians of the World in Connection with the 80th Anniversary of the Victory of the Soviet People in the Great Patriotic War of 1941-1945 and Anti-Hitler Coalition in the Second World War. The parliamentarians called on the world community to join efforts in preventing the revival of Nazism and preserving the most important moral values for future generations.
