On April 28, the International Military Centre in Moscow hosted a celebration of the 20th anniversary of the CSTO Joint Staff.
Colonel General Anatoly Sidorov, Chief of the CSTO Joint Staff, presented the main results of the CSTO military component’s activities.
Event participants included Imangali Tasmagambetov, CSTO Secretary General, Permanent Representatives of the CSTO Member States, military attachés, representatives of the Russian Ministry of Defence, Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and other agencies.
“Being an important element of the CSTO collective security system, the Joint Staff will make every effort to ensure the Organization’s readiness to respond adequately and effectively to possible crises, continue to develop the CSTO Troops (Collective Forces) and ensure the sovereignty and territorial integrity of the CSTO Member States,” Anatoly Sidorov said.
As you may recall, the decision to establish the CSTO Joint Staff was made by the CSTO Collective Security Council in Dushanbe on April 28, 2003.
