On February 7, Andrei Serdyukov, Colonel General and Chief of the CSTO Joint Staff, met with CSTO parliamentarians who had arrived for a regular meeting in Moscow.
The participants of the meeting visited the Crisis Response Centre, where they familiarized themselves with the Centre's tasks, its structure, and with the crisis response system in the CSTO in general.
Colonel General Andrei Serdyukov noted that "the Joint Staff considers it important to continue maintaining close cooperation with the structures of the CSTO Parliamentary Assembly for the successful resolution of tasks."
During the meeting, the priority areas of activity within the framework of cooperation between the CSTO Joint Staff and the Parliamentary Assembly were presented, in particular, improvement of the legal framework, information exchange with the national bodies of the CSTO Member States authorized to interact with the Joint Staff, thorough preparation of joint military exercises, and others.
Representatives of the CSTO PA regularly take part in events concerning the military component of the Organization, including joint exercises with the CSTO Collective Forces.
