On March 27, the International scientific and practical conference on the relevant issues related to legal support for the CSTO collective security system has begun in St. Petersburg.
Within the framework of the conference, experts and parliamentarians of the CSTO Member States will discuss the key areas for development and improvement of the legal foundations to strengthen collective security in the region until 2030, as well as exchange exclusive information on the latest trends in legal support for collective security.
Hosted by the CSTO Parliamentary Assembly, the event will provide a forum for discussing contemporary challenges and threats to security, as well as strategies for overcoming them within the Collective Security Treaty Organization.
“We expect today's conference to become a significant occasion in the field of international security and legal research, giving experts and politicians an opportunity to exchange experience and work out joint solutions to strengthen collective security in the region,” stated Sergei Pospelov, Executive Secretary of the CSTO Parliamentary Assembly.
Three round tables are scheduled as part of the event: "Global and Regional Challenges and Threats to the National and Collective Security of the CSTO", "Countering International Terrorism and Extremism and Other External Challenges and Threats to the National and Collective Security of the CSTO Member States” and "Countering Internal Challenges and Threats to the National and Collective Security of the CSTO Member States".
