Today, on March 15, the Republic of Belarus celebrates Constitution Day.
"Updated with the input from millions of Belarusian people, the Basic Law has become the foundation for creating a truly people's state, a state that puts caring for its people first in its policy." Aleksandr Lukashenko, President of Belarus noted In his congratulatory speech.
“In Belarus, we're building a society of equal opportunities, protecting the rights and freedoms of our citizens, strengthening the institution of family. We have a system of support for young people in place and we're actively developing health care, science and education. The state encourages spiritual revival, preservation of the cultural heritage and interfaith dialogue,” the President emphasized.
He also drew special attention to the fact that in the year of the 80th anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War, the provisions of the Constitution “aimed at preserving the historical truth about the sacred feat of the Belarusian people” are of particular importance.
On Constitution Day, celebrations are held on the State Flag Square in Minsk.
