Tajikistan Celebrates Majlisi Oli Day: the Day of the Republic's Parliament
September 26 is a national holiday in the Republic of Tajikistan, Majlisi Oli Day. It is aimed at highlighting the historical significance and prominent role of the highest representative and legislative body in the country's political system.
Tajikistan's parliament, a bicameral body made up of the Majlisi Milli and Majlisi Namoyandagon, plays a key role in shaping the country's current legal framework.
On the international stage, the Majlisi Oli of the Republic of Tajikistan actively participates in the work of the CSTO Parliamentary Assembly. Tajikistan’s parliamentary delegation makes a significant contribution to the development of interparliamentary dialogue, as well as approximation and harmonization of national legislation of the CSTO Member States.
The joint work of Tajik parliamentarians with their colleagues in the Assembly supports the development of quality model laws and the establishment of effective legal mechanisms to counter modern transnational challenges and threats, and to maintain peace, security, and stability in the Eurasian region.
As you may recall, in 2027 the Republic of Tajikistan will assume the CSTO chairmanship, which creates new opportunities for strengthening cooperation.
